Dear Parents,
Here is some information about our learning for the week beginning 15th February.
Maths
- Introduce notation for powers of 10.
- Practice rounding numbers.
- Compare numerical data, including measurements.
Language
- Speaking and Listening - Presenting an oral presentation: We will be coaching and supporting the children to be able to present their biography's about their chosen person connected to rights. We will look at how to use their voices, body language and volume effectively and appropriately.
- Reading: Scanning and searching text for answers to questions. Students will be given a reading task on Sunday (connected to their guided or library reading book). This will be handed in on Thursday. We have begun this routine and will be continuing it. With International Day, some people haven't handed in their red books. Please help your child to remember to return their red book on Sunday.
-Spellings: Spellings from the previous week, will be tested on Sunday.
Unit of Inquiry
We will be completing our Unit of Inquiry Summative Assessments this week. The children will be presenting their oral speeches that they have been working on all week to each other. A rubric has been given to the children on Edmodo so that they know the expectations. We look forward to hearing the end product of all of their work soon!
A few extra pointers...
