G2-5 PE Swimming Lessons
Dear GIS parents,
Our G2-5 Students will start their block of Swimming Lessons in PE as of Sunday 12th April (Day 2 in our cycle). This block will run until the 21st of May. During this block the students will be swimming in all of their PE lessons.
Within these lessons our main focus for the students will be on developing stroke technique, body position and their breathing techniques.
Please see a list below of what your child must bring with them to school for their swimming lessons:
Ø Goggles
Ø Swimsuit (girls – one piece swimsuit only please)
Ø Towel
Ø Sandals / flip flops
Ø Plastic Bag for wet items
Ø Dressing Gown – some students may wish this to wear from changing to poolside
Ø Swim Cap – we would recommend that all students bring a swim cap, especially girls as this protects hair and also allows for quicker changing as there is no wet hair at the end of the lesson
Please remember to label all swimming costumes and towels, to assist us to return lost items.
Ø It is very important to keep PE Staff informed of any health problems or health conditions. Students need to bring a written note from a doctor to inform their PE teacher if they are unable to participate in swimming. Otherwise, if a child is in school, they should be well enough to participate in swimming.
Please feel free to contact the PE Department if you any questions related to the swimming lessons in PE.
Kind Regards,
