Here is some information about our learning for the week beginning 15th March
Maths
- Partial-quotient division using 2 digit divisor
- To review basic vocabulary and basic concepts of probability; Introduce finding probabilities for events when all of the possibilities are equally likely
Language
- Reading: Please keep supporting reading at home. Remember to record when you listen to your child read in their green book. Please add comments as this supports our assessments and planning.
-Writing: Students will be writing reflections about their machine designs and considering personal and group strengths and areas for future improvements. Students will also be reflecting upon the Unit as a whole.
-Speaking and Listening: Students will explain to the class about their machine by discussing how it works and how it is connected to real life machines.
Unit of Inquiry
- Make final alterations to plans for their machines.
- Build their machines which have been created to move an egg from one location to another. Please discuss with your child about the resources that they will need for their projects. These will need to be collected immediately and brought into school so that they are ready to be used.
- Test their machines to check that they function correctly.
- Reflect upon their performances as designers, creators and inventors.
Important Dates:
Tuesday 24th - Last school day for the students.
Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th - Three way parent, student and teacher conference. Please sign up outside our room or via email to secure an appointment.
