Here is some information about our learning for the week beginning 19th April.
Maths
- Calculate fractions from a set of data.
- Find fraction parts of polygons.
- Use pattern blocks to add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers.
- Identify equivalent fractions.
Language
- Reading: Please keep supporting reading at home. Remember to record when you listen to your child read in their green book. Please add comments as this supports our assessments and planning.
-Writing: Understand the differences between formal, informal and slang; Know the difference between simple, complex and compound sentences and create their own examples of these sentences; Write descriptive paragraphs about cultural pictures; Make notes about setting, character and plot from a film of Cinderella; Connect knowledge of the plot of Cinderella to different cultural versions; Understand and explain how language is used and varied to suit different purposes and audiences.
-Spelling: The students were assessed last week to check for progress. New spellings will be handed out on Sunday.

- Watch promotional videos about countries around the world; Discuss audience, context, language and connect this to particular cultures.
- Analyse travel guides and explain the information gained from each.
