- Revise Unit 7: Find fractions of sets; Find fractional parts of polygonal regions; Add and subtract mixed number fractions; Identify equivalent fractions; Order sets of fractions; Find the whole or The One for given fractions; Compare and predict results from an experiment ; Review basic ideas of probability.
Language

Students will be either working guided with a teacher, working on spellings, completing an independent reading activity or independently reading. Students will also look at introductions about countries and answer comprehension questions connected. Students will also read texts and review them showing an understanding of character, plot and sharing their opinions with supporting reasoning.
-Writing: Learn how to write reviews about books and hotels; Write imaginary reviews about holiday destinations; Write introductions about countries around the world; Write an introduction/overview about the G4 imaginary country (Unit Summative Assessment); Revise an edit work and write second drafts with alterations made to 'up-level' the writing; Use grammar focus work of complex and compound sentences in written work.
-Spelling: Spellings will be tested and new spellings will be handed out on Sunday.
Unit of Inquiry
- Learn about different types of Government; Consider the organisation of different Governments; Share opinions connected to positive and negative aspects of differing Governments.
- Being work on the Unit 5 Summative Assessment...Each G4 class will create a new and imaginary country. The students will be placed into committees to develop each aspect of the new country drawing on the Unit's Central Idea: Language reflects social and cultural context. The groups will begin preparing for the 'vacation day' in the following week where each class will visit each other's country.
G4 Teachers
A big thank you to Miss Amanda who has continued working in G4A this week. Another big thank you to Mr Jeff who is overseeing the Level One ELL Students.
Mr Rory's Doctor has recommended that he stays off for another week. The pneumonia is still affecting him severely and he continues to struggle with breathing and exhaustion.
Thank you for your understanding through Mr Rory's absence. I can assure you that there is a very strong team in G4 and we continue to deliver a high standard and creative curriculum for your children.
I hope everyone has a good and restful weekend.
