Dear Parents,
On Monday, December 1st, GIS will hold a celebration in honor of UAE National Day. As part of the celebration, we would like to invite you to share in some, or all of the day with us here at school. We will host 2 assemblies, the first for KG – Grade 2 and the second for Grades 3 – 8. Afterwards at 10:30 AM we will all gather downstairs and sing the UAE National Anthem to coincide with the record breaking attempt taking place at Wellington Academy, Dubai Silicon Oasis.
Throughout the day, the students will be involved in making crafts, flags and learning about the UAE along with visiting different ‘stations’ such as Henna, Face Painting and Arabic Writing. All of the GIS community including children, staff and parents are encouraged to wear traditional UAE dress or the colors of the UAE.
Homeroom parents will also receive an email from Gillian Benson, our Parent Representative and we will be asking for your support to bring traditional Arabic Food or supplies on the day. More detailed information about this and the general program will follow in the coming days.
We really do hope you can join us for this wonderful celebration.
