We hope that everyone has had a restful and relaxing holiday.
Here are just a few updates about Grade Four as we leap straight into Term Two!
- Our new Unit of Inquiry is about 'Rights and Responsibilities.' You will soon be receiving a letter explaining in more detail about this term's learning.
- Reading assessments will soon be completed and new reading books will be issued towards the end of the week.
- Spelling assessment groups are being finalized and the children will be told their new reading groups on Sunday.
- Reading is going to be a focus for this term. Please ensure that you support your child to have a regular reading routine. Also, please question and discuss with your child about their books. This will support their development of personal opinion and comprehension skills.
- Even if homework has not been specifically set, the expectation of homework is 45 minutes a day. This would include reading (including accessing Razz Kids), multiplication practice, revision of maths skills ( one tool is Everyday Maths Online), completion of the set homework in the Everyday Maths Study Link, taking action on information learnt in class, continuing to research and inquire about topics linked to our learning and continuously revising spellings.
Thank you very much for your continued support!
